摘要:
Cooperative binary ionic (CBI) solids form a versatile new class of opto-electronic and catalytic materials. CBI materials are composed of ionically self-assembled pairs of organic anions and cations. To date, pairs of ionic porphyrins, phthalocyanines, and dipyromethenes have been used to prepare CBI crystalline solids, producing multifunctional micro- and nano-scale structures.1 5 Cooperative interactions between functionally complementary porphyrin subunits lead to interesting emergent collective properties that may be appropriate for a variety of opto-electronic and renewable energy-related applications that benefit from the strong absorption of visible and UV light by the constituent porphyrins and phthalocyanines. Most recently, the first X-ray crystal structure of a CBI solid,3 which forms nanosheets, and the first synthesis hybrid CBI nanocomposites2have been reported by our group.
